Frequently asked questions
Do I really need an 0.1g scale?
For pour-over and espresso, yes — small ratio shifts (1g over/under on a 15g dose is ~7%) change the brew noticeably. Kitchen scales at 1g resolution work for cooking, not coffee.
Is the Bluetooth + app worth it?
Nice-to-have, not essential. The app does recipe playback (it pings you to pour at the right times) and stores brew logs. The scale itself is the value — Bluetooth is a bonus.
Battery life and charging?
30+ hours per charge under normal use. Charges by USB-C in ~2 hours. We've never seen one die mid-brew.
Alternative if I can't afford this?
Timemore Black Mirror Basic at THB 2,400 — 0.1g resolution, no Bluetooth, no auto-start timer, but accurate enough. Or any 0.1g jewellery scale + a phone stopwatch for THB 500. Just don't use a 1g kitchen scale.
