- Long description
- Thai Class 3 (voluntary third-party): covers damage you cause to other vehicles, property, and people — but does NOT cover your own vehicle's damage. The right pick for older cars where the comprehensive premium would exceed the car's value. We quote across Viriyah, Bangkok Insurance, Dhipaya, MSIG and 6 others. Most policies bind same-day for vehicles already registered with mandatory CMI (พ.ร.บ.). We always also quote Class 3+ (small first-party allowance) for vehicles in the THB 200-500k value range — sometimes the upgrade is worth it.

Frequently asked questions
Is Class 3 the same as CMI (พ.ร.บ.)?
No — CMI (พ.ร.บ.) is mandatory government cover, very low limits (~THB 30,000 medical / THB 500,000 death per person). Class 3 is voluntary on top of CMI, with higher limits. Most drivers need both.
Why would I pick Class 3 over Class 1?
If your car is worth less than THB 200,000, a Class 1 premium of THB 12,000-18,000 doesn't make sense — you'd write off the car after 10 years of premiums anyway. Class 3 protects against the catastrophic case (you hurt someone or damage their property) at 1/6 the cost.
What's the difference between Class 3 and Class 3+?
Class 3+ adds a modest first-party own-damage allowance (~THB 100,000) — enough to cover a minor fender-bender on your own car. Pure Class 3 covers nothing on your own vehicle.
Can I switch from Class 3 to Class 1 mid-year?
Yes — we cancel the Class 3 (pro-rata refund) and bind a Class 1. Useful if you upgrade your vehicle or change driving patterns. We handle the carrier paperwork.
